I just found out that the event information that I announced in the last CrashCast installment has changed. The gathering will still be on Saturday, October 3rd, but the locale has changed.
For those of you that are planning to attend this cool event, please check out the following links that give directions to the North Texas Aeromodelers flying site (new event site) which is in Denton, TX, NOT Decatur, as previously mentioned. We're back again this week, but this time with better sound quality and some talk about some planes I'm certain you'll want to check out. Whether you're a seasoned pilot or just getting your feet wet in the RC hobby, consider building a SPAD as your next plane. SPADs (Simple Plastic Airplane Designs), built from seemingly unorthodox materials, offer the builder unique, rugged, and inexpensive designs that perform well. This will probably be the first of several segments on these types of aircraft! LOL Thanks go out to Spadman for inspiring this episode!
A quick correction: I mentioned in this show that the supplier of my FIRST SPAD aircraft (Airmadillo Kombat 40) was out of business. The truth is, it looks as though they are still alive and kicking! Be sure to check out their site; it's the first link below! Notable Links: Airplane Factory SPADWorld Forums SpadToTheBone RCGroups SPAD Threads SPAD Combat Site |

While surfing this evening I happened upon a very cool site - DLPlanes.com. I haven't figured it all out yet, but it appears that two young gents (from the UK, perhaps?) have started their own site to show folks "how it's done" in the RC world.
After cruising around their site for a bit, I discovered a link to their YouTube Channel and I must say that I'm quite impressed! These kiddoes really seem to know what they're doing!! Look out, Dave Powers! Daniel and Luis are coming for ya!! Be sure you subscribe to these guys' videos. I have a feeling we're gonna see some very cool stuff from them! DLPlanes YouTube Channel

We're back with the PhlatBoyZ this week for our monthly update, and what an update it is! Listen as we discuss the latest release of the PhlatScript, as well as changes made to the pricing structure affecting all new PhlatPrinter orders. Oh yeah, and this installment also contains some interesting information about a NEW machine that the PhlatBoyZ expect to be offering very soon! This information even caught ME off guard! LOL Also, the PhlayBoyZ now have an official online store for hawking their wares to the world!
I apologize for the sound quality on my channel in this show. For some reason, my PC decided out of the blue that it should default to my built-in mic rather than my Audio Technica studio mic. This perplexes me since the only thing I've used this PC for in the last 3 weeks is the podcast, and I have not monkeyed around with any of the audio settings for close to six months. Re-recording the show was not really an option, and I didn't want to deny you listeners this great, informative episode, so here it is cleaned up as best I can... |

In this installment we discuss some new planes that are on the market and are piquing our interest, as well as some info on where I'm at on the big CNC machine. Also we have some discussion on a couple of cool developments over at the PhlatForum.
